So many fond memories are held in our hearts from stays at Charlwood to Woldingham to Hildenborough. Your hospitality on our trips to the UK was always appreciated, as was your generosity in showing us heritage gems in the countryside, and of course, the interesting discussions that were had on world affairs. Dear Jim, rest in peace. With love, Kitty and John

I have known Jim since popping into Southfields House around 1980. He has always been interested and accepting and made me feel at home from the start. He was a great Mr fix it, whether it was helping with his family's finances or building his house (we shared the DIY bug), and his desire to make things right in my journey with Elizabeth has always been so helpful and key to our happiness as a family. I will miss our conversations about issues of the day. He will remain in my affections always and it was a privilege to be part of his life. God speed dear Jim. Mark
